Tsemaye Binitie SS2011 Collection

The collection takes a multi-dimensional perspective masked in modernity; in this collection we see sharp tailoring with, demure sophistication. Tsemaye presents a worthy selection of slightly futurist styles which embody structured figure hugging garments. The collection definitely has his personal imprint on it, the pieces align to what we have come to discover as his point of view as a designer. He has always had strong use of color and with this he goes from nudes to hints of pastels and ends with black resounding. The dresses go from Body con to baby dolland possess a kind of grown up quality to them. Tsemaye knows how to make a woman feel like a woman. What Shadders loves most about this collection is the fact that, although it has glamorous touch to it, the outfit also have a street/edgy twist to it.

New Photos of Shadders Favourite African Model: Ajak Deng

Shadders is always happy to read about our favourite African models taking the fashion world by storm. This week we stumbled upon a new image of Ajak Deng, complete with new hair colour, for her portfolio. Originally from Sudan, Ajak is currently living between Melbourne and New York. I applaud her, as she is really doing a great job putting Africa forward. As much as i love Ajak, not too sure about the blonde! What do ya'll think?

Brand Alert: Najité

Sophisticated, eclectic and a touch of ethnic heritage defines contemporary jewelry brand Najité {nah-gee-tay}. Based in Houston, TX, principle designer Racheal Okotie creates stunning pieces of jewelry to fit your personal and unique style. Racheal's passion for designing jewelry was born out of a simple dilemma: She had a fabulous outfit, but could not find the jewelry she envisioned wearing with that outfit anywhere. She picked up a book to learn the basics and the rest is history. Najité is derived from Racheal's middle name which means "this is sufficient" or "this is good".

The Jewelry
All of the pieces showcased on their site are designed and hand-crafted by Racheal herself. All pieces are made of the finest quality semi-precious gemstones, crystals, and findings.
