Feminity Unleashed: Fabryan spring/summer 2011 collection

FABRYAN (fa-bri-an) was borne not only out of a love for all things fashion but an appreciation for feminine, alluring and elegantly designed clothes. With more than a deep rooted desire to one day be creators of amazing pieces, bestfriends Samantha Jane (Nigerian) and Sua Kyei (Ghanaian); are similar in more than a few ways. They were both raised by dress designer mothers and found themselves in the midst of the world of fashion at an early age.They would act as little apprentices, sketching and designing dresses for their dolls out of pieces of fabric and trimmings left over; much to the chagrin of onlookers. Samantha-Jane’s business acumen and unique vision of creativity coupled with Sua’s nonchalant approach to style and enthusiasm for couture, resulted in a business partnership and the establishment of Fabryan in 2010. They launched their first Spring/Summer 2011 collection of couture and ready to wear pieces at Fashion Mavericks during London Fashion Week, September 2010. The collection played on antonyms of purity and mystery and inspiration was drawn from yin and yang, day and night and light and darkness to create fresh and demure pieces.
